About Hojung Kwon

South Korean violinist Hojung Kwon is currently pursuing her master’s degree with Ronald Copes at The Juilliard School in New York City. She has been playing the violin since the age of 8, and her dream is to become a professional artist who provides transformative moments to audiences.

Recently, Hojung performed Sibelius violin concerto with orchestra at the Benedict Music Tent as a winner of the 2023 Aspen Music Festival concerto competition. She was also the first prize winner of The Music Association of Korea Competition, The Music Journal Competition, and the Youngsan Hall Music Competition. She has been awarded top prizes such as Segye Times Music Competition, Eumak Chunchu Magazine Competition, and Eumyoun Concour. Some of her highlight performances are the uJung Prodigy recital and Tongui-dong Classic’s Young Artist Recital.

As an active and passionate chamber musician, Hojung has given numerous performances. She has appeared as the artist of 2021 Kumho Young Chamber Recital with the Piano Trio Doze. She participated in Seoul Spring Chamber Music Festival ‘Fringe Festival’ four times as a member of string quartet and string octet. Moreover, she had opportunity to perform chamber music with Glenn Dicterow, Jonathan Feldman, and The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center.

Hojung has studied at Yonsei University where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree. Festival she has participated in include the Aspen Music Festival, Music Academy of the West, Great Mountains Music Festival, and LG Chamber Music School. Hojung has performed in the masterclasses of Glenn Dicterow, Pamela Frank, Kathleen Winkler, Martin Beaver, Catherine Cho, and Miriam Fried.
